Hi Becky
I am actually interested in the usage and meaning of the word " jiù" in the following sentence
Hái méi chī, wǒ mǎshàng jiù qù.
Its look to me the same like the word huì - "will to something"
regards
Peter
Hi Rita. Glad to see you again! Yeah, this time is "see" you. lol
Yes, you're right. "Wǒ de jiā zài Xī'ān. Wǒ shì Xī'ān rén." Guìlín is not in Xi'an. Both of them are cities. Guìlín is in Guangxi province, and Xi'an is in Shaanxi province. Guilin is very famous for its natural scenery and Xi'an i...

Hi geoge4,
"Feng shui" is a kind of traditional Chinese metaphysics. It says the location of a house, tomb or position of things in the house supposed to have an influence on the fortune of a family.
床(chuáng)前(qián)不要(bùyào)放(fàng)镜子(jìngzi),风水(fēngshuǐ)不(bù)好(hǎo).
Don't put mirrors in front of y...

Hi Paul! Well, for your replay "how can I help you," literally translation in Chinese is "我怎么帮你?(Wǒ zěnme bāng nǐ?)" Or you can say "我能帮你做什么?(Wǒ néng bāng nǐ zuò shénme?)" :)

Okay, so apparently 油条 are called Fritters in English.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritter
"Fritter is a name applied to a wide variety of fried foods, usually consisting of a portion of batter or breading which has been filled with bits of meat, seafood, fruit, ..."
Personally, I'm wondering what...
不客气(bú kèqi)。
You'd better say "谢谢你的回复(xièxie nǐ de huífù)," thanks for your reply. Or "谢谢你的工作(xièxie nǐ de gōngzuò)," thanks for your work. We don't put a adjective after 谢谢.
"我学的每一天!" is not correct. I think your sentence should be "我每天都学(wǒ měitiān dōu xué)," which is "I study everyday." Is th...

Hi yaquicuevas1984! Your sentences are all about looking for someone in the past. (Now you have found him/her.)
Where have you been?=你去哪儿了?(Nǐ qù nǎr le?)
I haven't seen you around recently?=最近没有看到你?(Zuìjìn méiyǒu kàn dào nǐ?)
In this two sentences, both 了(le) and 没(méi) are used to describe the...

Hi, takak! 我很好,好久不见,你好吗?"晚上你请我喝什么?(Wǎnshang nǐ qǐng wǒ hē shénme?)" :) (Joking.) "Tonight" in Chinese is "今天晚上," whose short form is "今晚." "晚上" means evening or night. Yeah, "随便" is a nice word, but there are still some people who don't like this word. :) And for the sentence "我们随便谈话吧," it'll be b...

Nǐ hǎo, Alex! I'm glad that my audios are useful to you. No problem, I'll upload more audios for you. :)
Who is your favorite singer? If you want to ask it in Chinese. It should be "Shéi shì nǐ zuì xǐhuan de gēshǒu?"
And my answer is "Wǒ zuì xǐhuan de gēshǒu shì Adele!" My favorite singer is Adele...

Hi Alex! The measure word "zhāng" for paper and things like paper. For cellphones we use "tái" or "bù." And if you want to express something you've done before, you should add a "le" after the verb. Then the sentence should be "Wǒ zuótiān mǎi le yí bù xīn shǒujī." (I bought a new cell phone yesterda...

When we see our friends off, we want to express our wishes that they will be safe and well. What should you say and what should you NOT say even you have the best intentions in the world?
早上好,moo84! "Take your time" in Chinese, 你可以说 “别急,慢慢来(Bié jí, mànman lái).” And about "what should I say," if you say "我应该怎么(样)说(wǒ yīnggāi zěnme yàng shuō)," it'll be better. :) So when you don't care about what's going on with something or someone, 你会说什么呢?(nǐ huì shuō shénme ne?/ what would you sa...
